Darajat is a haven where the light of Islamic teachings is studied, illuminating the path of life with
wisdom and purpose.
Our Story
Darajat began in 2017 as a collaborative program with a local community center, led by the future founders of what would become the Darajat organization. The inaugural cohort consisted of 31 women and was conducted entirely in Arabic. From the outset, the program stood out for its dedication to creating opportunities for adults and youth seeking authentic Islamic knowledge and spiritual development.
It addressed a crucial need by offering structured and accessible Islamic education to individuals who might not have otherwise had the opportunity to pursue it. What further distinguished Darajat was the ongoing and deliberate effort of its leadership to dismantle the barriers that had long limited access to essential religious learning for both men and women. Whether those challenges were financial, geographic, or related to time constraints, the administration remained steadfast in its mission to make Islamic education inclusive, flexible, and truly responsive to the needs of the community.
